Children and Youth Department

The Children and Youth Department is comprised from several large premises that were furnished with visual artworks by leading Slovak artists. The children have to their disposition several thousands of books, children magazines, exposition of the latest books, a lot of information on panels made in interesting way, a place for pleasant sitting with plenty of games as well as qualified help from the children librarians. The Advanced Rapid Library (automated borrowing system) was introduced in the Department already in 2001, and in the same year the on-line catalogue was accessed to the public too.

Department for Adults

Department for adults is the entry gate to the Library. Its service is directed to the readers older then 15 years of age. Beside of several ten thousands book of belles letters novels and expert literature assigned for the borrowing in absentia, also the Expert Reference Library, newspapers and magazines are for the Library visitors´ disposition on the in-house principle. The news from the world of the book culture displayed on panels is a matter of course as well as theme books exhibitions and matters of interest on books.

Computer room

The non-investment fund Mosty (Bridges), the City of Piešťany and the Town Library in Piešťany have solemnly opened the Computer room for handicapped and social feeble to the public in August 15, 2005 at 2 pm in the Town Library Piešťany. It was built as a part of the project The Chance without Barriers thanks to Microsoft grant. The Computer room patrons are the Olympic swimmer Martina Moravcová and the Slovak Paralympian Committee Chair Ján Riapoš. A music performance by Radovan Blahunka was an integral part of the programme . The City of Piešťany secured the computer room as the winner of the Slovak towns and villages competition Oskar without Barriers. The partners are: Microsoft Unlimited Potential, Holcim, VÚB, Exe, Symantec, KIOS, AABP. Media partners: Slovenka, SME, Pravda.

Internet centre

The Piešťany Town Library became one among the first in Slovakia (since 1999) to offer the service in the Internet Centre to its visitors.
