Literary and Artistic Competitions
In our library we recognize that providing comprehensive lending services especially to children and youth is not enough to keep their interest in reading. For this reason, we organize various competitions, by which we try to motivate our readers to further develop their reading habits and skills, as they are the basis for mastering other skills such as the technique of reading, writing, rational study, the ability to quickly and relevantly search for information and, last but not least, to manage and make use of it all. One way in which we promote a child’s ability of expression and the development of imagination is through literary competitions. It is a challenge for young readers to see if they know how to ‘create real literature” and for teachers it is a way to ascertain just how the children are able to express their thoughts.
