This was a prevention-type project, which for several years has been prepared by the Town Library in conjunction with the Fire and Rescue service in Piešťany and the town of Piešťany. It consists of a variety of events all on the topic of fire protection – lectures, knowledge quizzes, art competitions for children connected with an exhibition and others. One accompanying event is the regular defence-sport competition for children from the Piešťany region together with a presentation of fire equipment and real-life demonstrations by firemen, which takes place in the Piešťany Town Park. The goal of the project is, primarily, to teach children, in a fun and interesting way, the basics of fire prevention as well as to better acquaint them with the importance and difficulty of a fireman’s work.
