Town Library in Piešťany sources its development conception from the Slovak Libraries Strategy and its main commission, above all, is informatisation, internetisation, information sources provision, defence and access to Library collections, book and information services to disadvantaged users, its employees´ education and work conditions improvement.

Town Library in Piešťany participates in City of Piešťany promotion through its Piešťany Information Centre work and supplies information service to local and foreign visitors.

Due to ever rising book prices and operation costs, it is increasingly more and more difficult to secure the volume and quality of book collections, the library and information services, and publishing as well as editorial and promotional activities. That is why the Library looks for other resources to finance it development programmes – European Union funds, Slovak Republic Ministry of Culture grant programmes, support programmes of various non-profit subjects, non-investment funds and others.
