The library provides leaflets at the discussions with book authors, which contain bibliographic information about the authors and illustrators, profiles of various, important figures as well as tips on what to read and other interesting things from the world of literature. At the same time these materials serve as a source of information for both our children and adult readers. Anniversary bulletins
This information material is issued for any major anniversary of the founding of the Piešťany Town Library (usually an anniversary ending in “0”). In addition to a look at the history of the library, these bulletins also provide an overview of the most significant events and projects, which were carried out by the Piešťany Town Library, together with a picture gallery of the important people who visited them. In 2013, to mark the 900th anniversary of the first written record of the town of Piešťany, we prepared an international exhibition of cartoonists from 3 countries - Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland on a topic characteristic of our town - Sun - Water – Health. An accompanying catalogue containing photographs, samples of work, and written biographies of the participating artists in two languages, was also issued. |
