Under this title, on May 7-8, 2011, at the Vyšehrad (Castle) in Prague, a formal meeting and presentation of the Czech Republic’s different regions and counties took place under the auspices of the main organizers the Association Etente Florale CZ - Souznění, o.s. Every year, at this event, citizens from Czech, Bohemia, and Silesia come together to present their culture, traditions, and customs. Also taking part at these gatherings at Vyšehrad are representatives from the town of Piešťany, MsK (Town Library) and the PIC (Piešťany Information Centre).

Our town was the first foreign participant at this event, where it presented its project “A City for Man – Man for the City“, which showed new modifications and constructions carried out in recent years in the town of Piešťany – particularly public areas such as the central urban zone, park modifications around the Dubova stream and the system of bike paths built around the Sĺňava reservoir and Dubova stream. The designer and implementer of the project was the Town Library.
Thanks to the Czech Centre in Bratislava we entered into cooperation with the Association Etente Florale. They actually came up with the idea of bringing their exhibition “My Homeland” to Slovakia. The collection of display panels and boards with the Czech, Moravian and Silesian presentations thus travelled from Brno to Piešťany, where they were exhibited in the Piešťany Town Library and later in the Town Park. The presentation of the project “My Homeland“ had something for people of all ages – there was an exhibition of children’s drawings called “Piešťany Through the Eyes of Children“, a creative workshop, and a puppet show for children. Another part of the program was a lecture by the Honorary Counsel General of Sudan Dr. Nasruddín Šulgámí, which was devoted to environmental problems in his country.
