AHA! Look! SLOVAK-CZECH PICTURE DICTIONARY OF TREACHEROUS WORDS FOR CHILDREN

In 2012, the first nationwide conference of illustrators PIKTO 12 took place in the Piešťany Library. One of the accompanying events was an exhibition by the Slovak illustrator and graphic designer Mária Nerádova. Through cheerful illustrations the artist acquainted children with the most varied Slovak and Czech expressions. This unique project was the expansion of the author’s original student thesis into the form of a book, which was awarded in the competition The Most Beautiful Book in Slovakia 2010. The exhibition also included worksheets for school children and large format colouring book paper on the wall, which allowed children another opportunity to interact with the content of her exhibition. As an accompanying event to this exhibition we also prepared information classes and creative workshops focused on the different categories in the exhibition (for example plants, food,...). The exhibition and the accompanying events were attended by 2684 participants.
