Festivals

They say Piešťany is the town of festivals. The radio festival Miraculous Nut, organised as bicentennial event by the Town Library in Piešťany in co-operation with the Slovak Radio Broadcasting, occupies important place among musical, theatre, floral, visual arts or film festivals. The festival is not only competition of radio fairytales, it also is a festive time for all who create them for the children – the authors, illustrators, publishers, actors and radio employees. All these masters of their respective occupations meet in Piešťany to get together with their young listeners and present to them their latest fruits of labour – be that in the form of texts, visual arts or drama.   

The Town Library participates as co-organiser in the festival of youth Slovaks for Slovaks, a festival for the young folklore ensembles. This event supports the idea of togetherness and upholding and presenting our cultural values. Its target group is not only the Slovak youth living abroad but also the Piešťany region residents and visitors.
