Libraries for children

Our activities / Seminars / Libraries for children

To commemorate the Year of Reading Literacy, the Town Library prepared a nationwide seminar for librarians, teachers, and educators. The event's first guest was Miloslav Linc from the Town Library in Prague. He introduced to the Slovak public programs and activities, which they prepare for children readers as well as a variety of interesting projects such as the mini-book-bus Oscar (minibibliobus Oskar), which visits children in places where there are no libraries. Eliška Sadíleková from the non-profit organization Osmijanko presented the 13-year old all-Slovakia reading project Čítame s Osmijankom, pridaj sa aj ty! (We Read with Osmijanko, Join Us!). A part of her presentation also included a workshop focused on the use of creative drama within the humorous poetry of Tomáš Janovic. This seminar was an accompanying event of the 34th annual festival Children's Book Days.
