Fairytales from Paper
This exhibition of works by the artist, designer, and “the world’s greatest paperologist” Karol Krčmár, took place in 2000. The premises of the library were transformed, as if by a magic wand, into a kingdom of paper, where resided Princess Písanka (Notebook) and the Paper King as well as a scary paper dragon, paper forest complete with paper inhabitants, birds and animals. Karol Krčmár, with his highly professional mastery of art, captured the attention of those both small and large and he also inspired children in his workshop to develop their own creativity and creative approach towards the pleasant and pliable material that is paper. Karol Krčmár is the creator of the imaginative wooden toys CARLO, for which he has won several major awards both at home and abroad.
